Bush and Forest Foundation is a trusted local charity organization registered in Tanzania with registration number 00NGO/R/3512/. The organization is headquartered in Arusha, Tanzania.

Founded in 2019 by Chairman and Director Raphael Christian, the foundation was established with a vision of transforming the lives of thousands of local people through education, empowerment, environmental care, and sustainable community development.

Bush and Forest Foundation offers Tanzania Volunteer and Internship Programs to students, interns, travelers, and adventurers who wish to explore the world in a meaningful way. We provide an accessible platform for individuals from around the globe to connect with local communities, support development initiatives, exchange culture, and experience a new way of life.

The organization operates through the following core projects:


📚 1. Education Project

Our Education Project focuses on improving access to quality learning opportunities for children and youth.

Children School Program

Includes daycare and preschool, providing early childhood education in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

Opening School Program (Youth Skills Development)

Supports youth who lack formal skills or experience to improve their employment opportunities. Training includes:

  • Basic and intermediate English (currently operating)

  • Computer skills

  • Hairdressing

  • Designing

  • Hotel services

  • Tour guiding

This program equips young people with practical knowledge and employable skills for self-reliance and independence.


🌿 2. Nature Conservation & Green Coexistence Initiative

This project promotes environmental care, conservation, and sustainable living.

We work closely with communities to:

  • Plant and nurture trees

  • Organize environmental clean-up campaigns

  • Promote conservation awareness

  • Encourage sustainable and eco-friendly practices

Our goal is to create a healthy balance between people and nature while protecting the environment for present and future generations.


🤝 3. Community Empowerment Project

This project focuses on empowering youth and women through practical skills development.

Participants are trained in various handcraft and vocational activities that provide them with knowledge and income-generating skills. The aim is to help them secure employment or start their own small businesses, promoting economic independence, confidence, and long-term sustainability.


🌍 Volunteer & Cultural Exchange Programs

Bush and Forest Foundation welcomes international volunteers and interns who contribute their time, skills, and experience to support our projects. In return, they gain meaningful cultural exchange experiences and direct community engagement opportunities.


🦁 Bush and Forest Explorers Ltd

The organization is also the founder of Bush and Forest Explorers Ltd, a safari company that offers affordable safari tours, hiking, and excursions across Tanzania.

Volunteers and visitors can explore Tanzania’s natural beauty before or after participating in community projects. Importantly, 10% of safari profits directly support the operations of Bush and Forest Foundation.
